2020 was an apocalypse. No, not the end of the world, as the term is commonly used. Apocalypse is a revealing. This year revealed many things:

1. Many people, especially “Christians”, are incapable of sacrificing their own comfort and security for the sake of others.
2. White Evangelicals are afraid of facing the unjust systems and institutions from which they benefit.
3. White Evangelicals are morally bankrupt and incapable of bearing witness to our society in terms of the common good.

I had this thought the other day and I leave it as the prophetic word for this moment: “The idea that one does not need a mask, or be afraid of the virus, because of ‘faith’, is nothing but nihilism wrapped in Christian words.”
